Moyne is best known in a Wicklow Way context as the southern terminus of the Wicklow Way walking route originally planned by J.B. Malone in 1966. It is a picturesque Georgian hamlet located within 2km of the village of Knockananna, where essential provisions are available in the local shop.
Moyne’s location a little over half way from Glenmalure to Tinahely makes it a popular stop-over point, a fact mentioned in several publications. There is a small guest house in the area offering evening meals. Because of the lack of alternative local accommodation advance reservation is essential.
